The Euroa Golf Club has always been recognised for the true running quality bent-grass greens. These along with an excellent layout designed by professional golf course architect – Vern Morcombe 1948 adds to an inviting challenge to golfers at all levels. Mr. Morcombe is recognised for his golf course design achievements e.g. Kingston Heath. Golf commenced in Euroa in 1908 and after a couple of relocations members of the time chose the present site for the existing club.
The par 72 course is set in a stunning native rural environment with gentle undulations and challenging dog leg holes. A further feature of the layout is the manner in which a water course comes regularly into play which has added to the pleasant surrounds and adding a further challenge to the wayward golfer. There is always a variety of native birds, koalas and kangaroos which appear from time to time.
With many parts of rural Victoria suffering from the drought we have recently been fortunate to obtain recycled water for our course. With this being available the club has undertaken a program to install a fully automated watering system that has almost been completed. This work, completed totally on a voluntary basis by members has resurrected our course from almost a dust bowl to a lush well grassed one. This new grass cover has now increased a new challenge to many of our golfers.
